Mental Health Awareness Week

9th - 15th May 2022

Lonely man standing at a window.

2022 sees an all-time high in mental health awareness following the extremities and misery the Covid-19 pandemic brought with it.

As people were trapped inside, on-and-off, for nearly two years, our physical and mental health strength has taken quite a blow. We were forced against seeing our friends and family, and for some that isolation - not just from a virus - but also from our nearest and dearest has plummeted us into a state of poor mental health. While also - positively - pushing mental health awareness to the forefront of societies collective consciousness.

It is now our job, as a society to look out for one and other more than ever. That’s why we’re joining the Mental Health Foundation this year to help tackle loneliness and raise awareness around mental health.

A fact that has been extremely resonate with us recently is that we never truly know what is going on in someone else’s mind. As an on-looker, someone may seem happy, proud, and content. However, this could be just for show and in their head they are feeling all kinds of loneliness, hatred, sadness, the list of potential emotions is endless.

This is why it is so important for us as humans, and as a society, to look out for one and other. Humans are capable of making great physical and emotional connections with each other and we often feel forces beyond the explainable. Emotions such as love.

Loneliness can target anyone, anytime, anywhere.
